Our highly qualified nurses deal with a range of conditions and health concerns. They examine patients, make a diagnosis and plan care, including prescribing certain products.
They are experts in many areas of disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive airways disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma.
Health Care Assistants
Julie McKay and Melanie Coates are important members of the practice team who work under the supervision of a qualified nurse.
They can carry out new patient medicals, take blood tests, check blood pressure, test urine and undertake simple dressings and removal of sutures.
Treatment Room

The treatment room provides services to all our patients for blood tests, blood pressure testing, pregnancy testing, dressings, ear syringing, holiday vaccinations and minor emergencies.
The treatment room is open daily from 9.00 - 11.45am and from 1.00 - 4.30pm by appointment.

Practice Pharmacists
Sanjay Tanna – Lytham Road Health Centre
Deborah Beech – St. Mary’s Surgery
The pharmacists are here to offer patients advice with medication and review prescribing. They can be contacted through the surgery reception switchboards.
Health Visitors
Carole Richardson, Avril Yates and team
The health visitors provide care, advice and immunisation for the newborn to school-age children.
District Nurse Team And Community Matrons
The district nursing team and community matrons deal with patients in their own homes and occasionally within the surgery.
Their patients are referred to the team from the hospital or by the doctors.
They can refer patients to social services for assessment or other agencies for care or advice.
The district nursing team also nurse terminally ill patients who wish to remain in their own home whenever possible.

Practice Manager
Sue Smith MAMS (AMSPAR) at Lytham Road Health Centre and Sue Steele at St. Mary’s Surgery will be able to help you with any administrative problems you may have with the way our practice is run.
Sue is always available to see any patient who wishes to express a complaint or has any suggestions or ideas that may help the practice be more efficient.

IT Manager
Ben Harley deals with all IT issues for the practice.
Data Input Clerks
Ros Parkinson, Mavis Mann and Lesley Williams input hospital reports, x-ray and test results to patient records.
Medical Secretaries
Melanie Nash and Thelma Caddoo type all hospital referrals for patients' appointments to consultants, using 'Choose and Book' and deal with all secretarial administration for the practice.
Reception Staff
Ann Roberts, Susan Rawcliffe, Michelle Andrews and Rachel Bartholomew are here to help you at Lytham Road Health Centre and Rita Dempsey, Joyce Kirkham, Sharon Merry and Nicola Fenton are here to help you at St. Mary’s Surgery.
They answer the telephone, deal with enquiries, book appointments and take repeat prescriptions.
Their job is very demanding so please be patient.
